Press Release :

Local jazz ensemble, Perpetua, has announced that they will debut their recently completed album entitled "Meltdown". The performance is scheduled to take place on June 30th, at the Performing Arts Center in Newport. Music will begin at 7:00PM with guitarist Tony Kaltenberg. All seating is reserved and tickets can be purchased by contacting the Performing Arts Center at (541)265-2787.

Perpetua recently partnered with Oregon Coast Council for the Arts and Jazz at Newport to host the "Spring Jazz" concert, a benefit for Jazz Fridays.  The group and their featured guests played to a full house and made it clear that jazz can be appreciated by all ages and by lovers of many different music genres. All members of the band are committed to sharing the pure joy of jazz and as a result, net proceeds of the June 30the event will benefit both Jazz at Newport and Jazz Fridays.

The band will be playing the new album in its entirety, as well as some familiar jazz favorites.  All members of the band look forward to a reunion with horn player John Bringetto, who will need to take time away from his preparations to sail to the South Seas sometime in early 2008.

There will be a brief reception following the performance to give the band an opportunity to interact and show their appreciation for the support of their friends and fans. For more details regarding this event, please visit www.perpetuajazz.com or www.jazzatnewport.org.
