Steve Burkle was born and raised on the Olympic Peninsula.  He is a third-generation jazz musician, who began formal training in piano and cornet at an early age, performing in band, orchestra, and theatre.  Steve's early interest in math and science spawned a progression to electronics, radio, audio recording, and broadcast experimentation. 

Like many other jazz musicians, Steve played in rock bands and performed at dances and concerts before developing his skills in jazz and composition.  He divides his time between audio engineering and artistic expression, serving as not only the keyboardist and a composer for Perpetua, but also as one of the Oregon Coast's principle sound engineers. 

Steve can be heard at his regular gig, Wednesdays at the Drift Inn in Yachats, OR.
